Here is a goats birth, called kidding, in pictures.
It is on a separate page for those that may be squeamish and rather not see the graphics.

Nutrition

This is what we do for our Angora goats nutritional needs.

They get hay, a grass mix with 30% alfalfa hay mixed in.
This is the bulk of their diet.
They need hay to maintain their rumen.
They get plenty of nutrition from a good quality hay mix.
During breeding, heat & rut, lactation, and growing they also get 1 pound of grain every day, each.
We use a goat pelleted grains that are fully balanced for goats and has no  molasses in it. It is 16% protein.

In summer when on pasture they do not need grains.

Minerals are a must!
We use loose minerals because blocks can not give goats enough minerals through licking. Goats have no top teeth and can not get the minerals off the block in necessary quantities to maintain health.
The minerals have to have copper. Its false that Angora goats can not have copper!
Their health, growth and fiber will suffer without copper.
Selenium we offer in a loose selenium/salt mix if the goats want it.
We don't give shots for selenium since we are not in a deficient area but if you are in a selenium deficient area, it may be a need.

We give our goats plain water with nothing added.
In winter they get warm water and it makes a differance for them with our very cold winters.
